Pretty happy to see that the reviewer enjoyed it so much, and to see it being favorably compared to a book that has resonated in the hearts and minds of readers for so many years… Which brings me to a point I doubt many people will believe: I did not write Sideshow as any kind of homage to Something Wicked This Way Comes, and only thought of it in the vaguest of terms when I first started writing the book. In fact, it had been so many years since I’d read it that I couldn’t remember much about it at all…

Sideshow actually began as a short story back around 2003, which was comprised basically of the first chapter of the book… Several years later, I sat down with it and polished it up, and in the process of doing that decided it was time to see how far I could take it, and where I could take it…

Still, all in all, it’s very rewarding seeing my book being compared so favorably to such a classic story, and I’m really looking forward to what people who read the novel have to say about it.
